This 1965 Ford Mustang convertible underwent modifications completed in 2021 that involved installing a 4.6-liter V8 and five-speed manual transmission from a 2008 Mustang GT, in addition to refinishing the car in metallic red and replacing the black soft top. The refreshed interior has saddle upholstery over the front bucket seats and individual rear seats, a full-length center console, Vintage Air climate control, power windows, power locks, and push-button ignition. Suspension includes a Mustang II-style front setup and a four-link rear end with coilovers, while braking is handled by four-wheel discs fitted inside 17″ Drag alloy wheels.
Suspension includes a Mustang II-style front end with power rack-and-pinion steering, a sway bar, and tubular control arms, and the four-link rear end has adjustable coilovers. The front springs were reportedly replaced under current ownership. Drag 17″ wheels are mounted with 225/45 Pirelli Cinturato tires. The car is also equipped with power steering, four-wheel disc brakes, and an electric parking brake.
The cabin was overhauled and fitted with saddle upholstery on the front bucket seats, individual rear seats, and door panels. A full-length center console is adorned with engine-turned trim, and additional features include power windows and locks, a Vintage Air climate control system, keyless entry, and push-button start.
The seller notes that the 4.6-liter V8 was sourced from a 2008 Mustang GT and installed in 2020. An aluminum radiator has been installed, the shock towers were removed, and the seller installed remanufactured fuel injectors as well as replaced the MAF, ignition components, fuel tank foam, fuel filter, and fuel pump, the latter of which is now an Aeromotive unit.
