This 1946 Century Sea Maid is a 15′6″ runabout powered by a 226ci inline-six Gray Marine Phantom engine with a forward/reverse gearbox and a single bronze propeller
The 15’6″ mahogany hull was finished with Dolfinite bedding compound and coated with dark gray antifouling paint below the waterline, and the topsides are finished in dark blue. The mahogany deck is finished with two shades of stain and glossy varnish. Features include a tinted two-piece windscreen, front and rear lift eyes, dual bilge pumps, a flag holder, and running lights
The 226ci Gray Marine Phantom inline-six produced 112 horsepower when new. Work performed during the refurbishment included overhauling the engine, refurbishing fuel system components, rebuilding the Zenith carburetor, installing a flame arrestor, replacing the mechanical fuel pump, replacing the fuel line and filter, cleaning the fuel tank, and replacing the water pump and hoses. Work performed under current ownership included installing a Barr Marine intake/exhaust manifold assembly, installing a new water-jacketed exhaust elbow, and installing a later-model Gray Marine cylinder head. Service in preparation for the sale included changing the oil, adjusting the transmission, setting the ignition timing, and replacing the spark plugs.
